In a state of mourning, we honour the 215 children found at a Canadian Residential School

Yellowquill University College staff and students honour the 215 children found in an unmarked mass grave at the Kamloops Indian Residential School.

This is a tragic/horrific event and out thoughts go out to that community and its members of the Tk’emlúps te Secwe̓pemc First Nation. We honoured these children by putting 215 balloons and hearts in the University College windows.

This is a grave reminder to all Canadians of a system that forcibly took children from their families to a place they called "school."
